Area Club Volleyball Teams Wrap Up Season in Phoenix

PHOENIX- The club volleyball season came to a close at Volleyball Festival in Phoenix for area clubs last week with five area clubs represented in the Grand Canyon State.
One of those area clubs with multiple teams in attendance was the 18u teams from 308 Exclusive. In Phoenix, the 18u Gold team finished with an 11-1 record and finished 2nd in the 17-18 club division with 158 teams. The 18u Golds lost only in the championship match in their bracket, while only losing four of the 26 sets they played. Meanwhile, also for 308 Exclusive, the 18u Black team finished 5-5 in the 17-18 club division and went 11-11 in the sets they played in Phoenix.
To talk about the weekend in Phoenix, Traeton Harimon chatted with 308 Exclusive Volleyball Club Director, Kristen Juelfs, who talked about the tournament and the growth of club volleyball in the region.
More area teams also sent teams to compete in Phoenix to wrap up their club volleyball seasons.
The 308 Elite Volleyball Club based in Sidney had both their 17s and 18s teams competing in the 17-18 club division. The 18s went 7-5 in match play while going 15-12 in their sets played, picking up a runner-up finish in their bracket and a 32nd overall finish in the division. The 308 Elite 17s went 6-6 in matches and 13-14 in their sets and picked up the championship in their bracket while finishing 121st in the 17-18 division.
The Wyobraska Sky were also in attendance with their team competing in the 16 club division with 140 teams total participating. The Sky went 7-3 on the day in their matches and 15-7 in sets to finish tied for 14th in the division with three other clubs.
The Chadron Elite 15u team competed in the 15 club division and went 4-6 in matches and 9-13 in set play to finish 32nd of 139 teams in the division. While their 13u team went 5-5 in match play and finished 45th out of 118 teams in their division.
Panhandle Powerhouse had their 14u team in attendance and competed in the 14 club division with 125 teams in it. They finished 5-6 in match play and 75th in their division.
